The doors opened at Picklr Toronto West this past weekend, and the room filled fast. More than 100 people lined up before we unlocked the front doors, and 300+ came through over the course of the day to get on the courts, watch real play, and see the club for the first time. For a lot of the city, this was their first look at indoor pickleball in Toronto done right, and their first rally inside the new club.
Pro Reps with Anna Bright
Pro player Anna Bright ran an advanced clinic on the day, drilled with members, and got into a few matches of her own. Watching a touring pro work the kitchen line up close does more for a player’s game than any highlight reel, you see the patience on the third-shot drop, the footwork resetting a fast hands battle, the small stuff that separates levels. She brought real energy to the floor and spent the day with the people who came out.
JOOLA on the Floor
JOOLA Pickleball Canada was a big part of the day. They ran extensive gear demos so players could put real paddles in their hands before buying, and gave away five 5-star paddles across the day. Getting to test-swing a lineup before committing is exactly how paddle decisions should be made, and having one of the sport’s defining brands set up on the floor made the opening land.
What the Turnout Said About Indoor Pickleball in Toronto
The numbers tell the story better than we can:
- 100+ players lined up early, before the doors opened.
- 300+ people came through across the day to play, demo gear, and tour the club.
- 5 paddle giveaways from JOOLA, handed out on the floor.
Lined-up-early energy on day one is the kind of thing you can’t manufacture. Toronto West showed up, and it confirmed what we already believed: this city was ready for a real home to play.
Your Home for Indoor pickleball in Toronto
A grand opening is one day. The club is built for what comes after it, Open Play, leagues, clinics, and a room that fills up night after night. We’re just getting going, and there’s plenty lined up for the weeks ahead.
If you came out this weekend: thank you. If you didn’t make it, the courts are open and there’s a paddle waiting.
Toronto West, we’ll see you on the courts.
